FBiH and Croatian municipalities approve major infrastructure funding
The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has approved the allocation of 30 million KM for the construction, adaptation, and reconstruction of sports infrastructure. This decision, proposed by the Federal Ministry of Culture and Sport, is part of the 2026 budget and targets projects of significance to cantons, cities, and municipalities within the Federation.
Recipients of these funds are required to open special transaction accounts within 15 days of the decision and must submit a final expenditure report to the ministry by June 30, 2027. Individual contracts will be concluded to regulate the rights and obligations of the parties involved.
In Croatia, the government has granted approval for six municipalities—Preko, Fužine, Donji Kukuruzari, Visoko, Zmijavci, and Generalski Stol—to take out loans totaling over 6.2 million euros. These funds are earmarked for various capital projects, including the construction of kindergartens, road reconstruction, cemetery development, and the energy renovation of a fire station. Loans are being sourced from institutions such as the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Zagrebačka banka, and Privredna banka Zagreb.
