Croatia approves National Regional Development Plan through 2035

The Croatian government has approved the initiation of the National Regional Development Plan through 2035, alongside an Action Plan for its implementation until 2031. Minister Nataša Mikuš-Žigman stated the plan will serve as a medium-term strategic document to establish priorities, goals, and indicators for regional development across Croatia, specifically focusing on strengthening regional competitiveness and supporting underdeveloped areas.

Additionally, the government approved a 70,000 euro contribution for the construction of a Pan-European Monument to victims of totalitarianism in Brussels. Foreign Minister Gordan Grlić Radman noted the monument will be located near EU institutions to symbolize European unity and democracy.

In response to the October 2024 floods in the Podgora municipality, the government extended the deadline for utilizing budget reserves for emergency repairs. This follows an initial 3.2 million euro allocation for the restoration of residential buildings, public property, and infrastructure in the Split-Dalmatia County.
