Croatia banking association warns of financial risks for youth

A study conducted by the Croatian Association of Banks (HUB) and Algebra Bernays University reveals that 87% of young people in Croatia (aged 18 to 35) are saving money, though 37% lack a clear savings goal.

The research shows that 44% of respondents are actively investing, with cryptocurrencies being the most popular choice at 22%, followed by stocks and ETFs at 19%, investment funds at 13%, and gold at 12%.

Tamara Perko, Director of HUB, warned that a significant portion of youth are obtaining financial advice through social media and artificial intelligence. While 62% of respondents follow financial content on social media, Perko cautioned that influencers and AI will not bear responsibility for any financial losses incurred by users.
