Croatia beer industry contributes 1.29% to GDP

A study by the Economic Institute Zagreb for the HGK Beer Producers Group reveals that the Croatian beer industry has significantly contributed to the national economy between 2021 and 2025. The sector generated an average of 1.29 percent of Croatia's GDP and 1.1 percent of all jobs during this period.

In 2025, the industry supported 20,803 jobs, with the calculation showing that every job within the producers themselves was linked to 10.4 additional jobs in the wider economy. The total GDP contribution reached 1.194 billion euros, with tax revenues totaling approximately 587 million euros.

Production volume in 2025 reached 3.127 million hectoliters, valued at 288.6 million euros. While Croatia represents about one percent of total EU beer production, the industry's impact extends heavily into tourism, trade, and hospitality, which accounted for over half of the gross added value.
