Croatia construction sector sees rise in works but decline in new orders
Data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) indicates a divergence in the Croatian construction sector during the second quarter of the year. While the value of construction works performed by companies with 20 or more employees rose by 13.5 percent compared to the same period last year, the value of new orders saw a decline of 4.3 percent.
In the first six months of the year, the value of performed works increased by 12.8 percent, totaling 4 billion euros. During this period, new orders grew by 4 percent, reaching 3.2 billion euros. The data suggests that construction firms are currently completing existing projects at a faster rate than they are securing new contracts, which may signal a potential slowdown in future activity.
