Croatia defeats Ghana 2-1 to secure Group L second place at World Cup 2026

Croatia beat Ghana 2-1 in the final Group L match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Petar Sučić opened the scoring in the 31st minute and Nikola Vlašić added a second in the 83rd, while Derrick Luckassen equalised for Ghana in the 73rd after a set‑piece.

The win moved Croatia to second place in the group with six points, ahead of Ghana, who finished third. Croatia will face the runner‑up of Group K – either Colombia or Portugal – in the round of 16. Captain Luka Modrić, 41, played a pivotal role, providing the assist for Vlašić's decisive header.
