Croatia drug trafficking: Indictment issued and sentence handed down

Authorities in Croatia have taken legal action against two individuals involved in drug-related offenses.

The County State Attorney's Office in Pula has issued an indictment against a 22-year-old from Poreč. He is accused of selling marijuana and amphetamine to a 16-year-old on two separate occasions between July and August last year. The indictment also alleges he enabled another man to consume drugs. While the suspect claimed he was unaware of the minor's age, prosecutors argue his appearance and the age gap made it evident. The prosecution is seeking the seizure of 140 euros in illicit gains.

In a separate case, the Municipal Court in Bjelovar sentenced a 30-year-old man from the Križevci area for the unauthorized procurement and mediation of cocaine and marijuana. Between August 2022 and May 2023, the individual facilitated drug use for others, including within his family home. He received a sentence of 11 months in prison, which was subsequently commuted to 660 hours of community service.
