Croatia allocates €20 million for local sports infrastructure in 2027

The Ministry of Tourism and Sport announced a public call to co‑finance the construction and renovation of sports facilities for 2027, earmarking €20 million. The invitation is open to municipalities, cities and counties, which can submit projects in six categories: large football fields with natural or artificial turf, sports halls, outdoor combat‑sports arenas, other facilities, swimming pools and sports centres or complexes. All proposals must meet the national sport federation’s criteria and be accessible to parasport athletes. Minister Tonči Glavina said, “We continue to support the renewal and construction of sports infrastructure throughout Croatia.” Since 2018 the government has co‑financed around 600 projects amounting to roughly €70 million; together with previous major investments, total public funding for sports infrastructure now approaches €120 million. The call closes on 31 August 2026.
