Croatia emerges as top summer destination for Central Europeans

Croatia remains the leading summer travel destination for several Central European countries, according to data from Netrisk Group. Analysis shows that travelers from Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech Republic, and Poland frequently choose the Adriatic coast for their summer holidays.

Slovak travelers show the highest concentration of interest, with Croatia accounting for approximately 28.7% of summer insurance policies, followed by Hungarians at 25.2%, Czechs at 15.4%, and Poles at 15.2%. This preference is attributed to proximity, ease of travel by car, and established traditions for family vacations.

While the Adriatic is a dominant summer theme, traveler preferences vary. Some tourists are moving away from traditional beach lounging in favor of authentic cultural experiences, such as wine tasting, local gastronomy, and exploring smaller villages or inland areas. Additionally, there is a growing interest in destinations like Vis, Dugi Otok, and Šolta, as well as an increase in visitors from more distant regions like the United States.
