Healthcare initiatives and emergency services expand in Montenegro and Croatia

In Montenegro, the fourth edition of the Race for the Cure is scheduled for September 27 at Gorica hill in Podgorica. Organized by NVO Brini o sebi under the Think Pink Europe license, the event aims to support women fighting breast cancer through running, walking, and community activities.

In Croatia, the Zadar County Emergency Medical Institute is implementing measures to improve healthcare on islands. This includes negotiating 24-hour medical readiness on islands such as Silba, Iž, and Dugi otok, and establishing a maritime emergency service. Additionally, the procurement of a medical vehicle named ‘BURA’ is underway to facilitate patient transport from Pag to Zadar. Emergency medical services in the Primorsko-goranska region have also reported significant activity, with helicopters and fast boats performing thousands of life-saving interventions and patient transfers across the Adriatic islands over the past few years.
