Croatia expands financial aid for pensioners and seniors

The Krapina‑Zagorje County (KZŽ) approved increased public funding for senior organisations, raising the grant ceiling to €11,235 per contract. Thirteen of the 23 applications received were approved, providing funds for IT equipment, office supplies and small inventory to improve services for pensioners and elderly citizens.

In the municipality of Veliko Trojstvo, a partnership between the local government, the Duga Vukovar humanitarian association and the Association for Assistance to Older Persons was formed under the EU‑funded “Kap dobrote 5” project. The initiative, worth over €4.3 million, has already distributed food and hygiene packs to more than 160 low‑income seniors and plans additional distributions later this year, ultimately aiming to reach over 6,000 people across eight counties in Croatia.
