Croatia expands school infrastructure to enable single-shift teaching

Educational infrastructure projects are underway across Croatia to facilitate the transition to single-shift teaching. In the Primorsko-goranska County, construction of the Marinići school complex is progressing according to schedule. The project, valued at 26.7 million euros, aims to provide facilities for over 600 students and is expected to be completed by April 2028.

In Zagreb, the city has launched a public procurement process for the reconstruction and expansion of Šestine Elementary School. The project will add over 1,000 square meters of space, including five new classrooms and a library, to accommodate approximately 400 students. The total project value, including equipment, is estimated at nearly 5 million euros, with 3.7 million euros funded through the European Union’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NPOO) in cooperation with the Ministry of Science, Education and Youth. Works in Zagreb are planned to begin in spring 2027.
