Croatia funds €5.2 million school sports hall and primary school rebuild projects
In Donja Voća, Varaždin County, officials laid the foundation stone for a new school sports hall for the Andrija Kačić Miošić Primary School. The €2.004 million facility, sized 15 × 27 m with 120‑seat telescopic stands and an adjacent outdoor field, is being financed almost entirely with €1.997 million from the EU Recovery and Resilience Mechanism, with the remainder supplied by the county.
In Vela Luka on the island of Korčula, Dubrovnik‑Neretva County, contracts worth €3.2 million were signed to reconstruct and equip the Vela Luka Primary School. The project includes rebuilding the historic 1911 building, converting attic space into classrooms, and adding a new pavilion with a dining hall and kitchen. Funding consists of a €1.509 million EU grant plus county budget contributions. Both projects aim to provide modern, single‑shift, all‑day education facilities and improve community sports and health infrastructure.
