Croatia funds translation of foreign diplomas for four diaspora members

The Croatian Ministry of Demography and Emigration allocated just over €25,000 to translate the diplomas of four members of the Croatian diaspora— a doctor of medicine, a dentist, an industrial engineer and a pharmacy graduate— into Croatian. The funding was approved by Minister Ivan Šipić under a public call issued in April, with applications accepted until 30 November.

The pilot project aims to remove an administrative barrier for returning or settling Croatians by facilitating the recognition of foreign qualifications. Eligible applicants include Croatian emigrants, their descendants and family members with Croatian citizenship or legal residence in Croatia, provided they hold a higher‑education degree earned abroad. Recipients must reside in Croatia for at least two continuous years, and must return the funds if the conditions are not met.
