Croatia holds awareness events for breast cancer prevention

Various events were held across Croatia to mark Pink October, an initiative dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer prevention and the importance of early detection.

In Velika Gorica, the Association Education Against Breast Cancer of Zagreb County organized a traditional pink walk. To mark the association's 25th anniversary, participants carried pink umbrellas, with 25 green umbrellas included as a symbolic gesture. The organization emphasized the necessity of regular self-examinations, ultrasounds, and mammograms, noting that early diagnosis significantly improves cure rates.

On the island of Korčula, the ‘Korčula Run’ humanitarian race was held to support patients and their families. The event used the color pink to symbolize solidarity and remind the public of the importance of regular medical check-ups for women.
