Croatia hosts 'Hod za život' marches in Sinj and Pula

The 'Hod za život, obitelj i Hrvatsku' (March for Life, Family, and Croatia) took place in several Croatian cities, notably Sinj and Pula. The movement advocates for the protection of unborn life and calls for legislative changes to replace the current abortion law from 1978.

In Sinj, the event was attended by Minister of Demography and Family Ivan Šipić, who expressed support for the initiative and noted that recent family support measures are yielding results. Organizers emphasized the need for social and economic solidarity with mothers and families.

The march in Pula, held for the first time, was marked by tension and counter-protests. A group of young activists staged a sit-in protest, blocking the planned route and using drums and banners to advocate for reproductive rights and the 'my body, my choice' slogan. This led to the march being rerouted. Reports emerged of verbal confrontations and alleged insults between participants and protesters. While activists claimed they faced threats and verbal abuse, organizers denied these allegations, stating that protesters were attempting to disrupt the program through noise and obstruction.
