Croatia hosts major rowing events in Zagreb and Rijeka

Croatia is hosting significant rowing events, ranging from international university competitions to local youth development programs.

The 16th EUSA University Rowing Championships opened on August 26, 2026, at the Jarun regatta course in Zagreb. The event features over 460 athletes representing 75 universities from 23 European countries. The University of Zagreb is hosting the championship for the third time.

In Rijeka, the VK Jadran rowing club has launched its annual free rowing school for children and adolescents aged 11 to 14. Supported by the Lürssen Design Centra Kvarner, the program aims to increase accessibility to the sport for youth, regardless of their family's financial situation.
