Entrepreneurs announce protest in Zagreb over rising costs

Micro and small entrepreneurs, along with private accommodation providers, have announced a protest in Zagreb scheduled for October 10 at Zrinjevac. The movement, organized by the Association Glas poduzetnika (UGP) and the Association Save Small Family Renters (SMOi), aims to voice dissatisfaction with rising operational costs and administrative burdens.

Key demands include reducing the tax burden on labor, increasing the personal tax deduction, and lowering contributions for lower income brackets. Protesters are also calling for a reduction in VAT and a review of government measures regarding price anchoring. Organizers emphasize that rising costs for energy, materials, and wages directly threaten the sustainability of small businesses and their ability to maintain employment and invest in the future.
