Croatia identified as most expensive European holiday destination in August

A Dutch analysis by Vind Vakantie Deals, examining approximately 670,000 holiday package deals, indicates that Croatia has the highest average package prices among several popular European destinations for August 2026.

In August, the average package price for Croatia was €1,077, which is significantly higher than Greece (€978), Italy (€935), Turkey (€913), and Spain (€828). The study highlights substantial savings for travelers who shift their holidays from August to September. In Croatia, prices drop from €1,077 in August to €747 in September, a 44% decrease. Similar seasonal price reductions were observed in Turkey (36%), Spain (41%), and Italy (25%), while Greece saw a smaller decrease of 13%.
