Croatia implements agricultural subsidies for winegrowers and family farms

Local authorities in Croatia are implementing financial support measures to bolster domestic agricultural production and combat recent environmental challenges.

In Krapina-Zagorje County, approximately 41,777 euros in non-refundable funds have been allocated to 25 winegrowers. This initiative aims to fund the purchase of over 22,000 new vine seedlings to restore vineyards affected by drought, hail, and the spread of Flavescence dorée. County Prefect Željko Kolar indicated that future support could increase significantly, with potential allocations of up to 200,000 euros if planting targets are met next year.

In Sinj, Mayor Miro Bulj has signed contracts totaling approximately 145,000 euros to support 89 family farms. The funding is part of a four-measure program designed to strengthen domestic production and preserve rural spaces. The administration emphasized the importance of food self-sufficiency and protecting local producers from import competition.
