Croatia issues commemorative coin for 100 years of radiotelevision
The Croatian National Bank has released a commemorative 2 euro coin to mark the 100th anniversary of Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT). The release honors a century of broadcasting that began with the first Radio Zagreb program on May 15, 1926.
Designed by academic sculptor Karlo Gross, the national side of the coin features a symbolic depiction of five rows of radio waves, representing the evolution from early radio signals to modern television and digital programming. The coin was struck at the Croatian Mint.
In addition to the standard circulation coin, the Croatian Mint has prepared special numismatic editions, including coins in blister packaging with a high mint luster and polished plate quality coins accompanied by numbered certificates.
