Croatia issues food recalls for dates and eggs due to safety concerns
The Croatian State Inspectorate has issued warnings regarding the recall of several food products due to safety concerns.
First, HAPIH has recalled 500g packages of ‘Sveža urma sa košticom MAZAFATI’ (LOT: 202510216601, EAN: 3858893 922421) due to increased mold levels detected during routine inspections. The presence of mold poses a risk of mycotoxin formation and violates EU food safety regulations. Consumers are advised to return the product to the place of purchase or dispose of it safely.
Additionally, Class A table eggs produced by Proizvodno-Trgovinski obrt Dami and OPG Željko Mijić are being withdrawn from the market. The recall was initiated as a preventive measure after Salmonella Enteritidis was identified on the farm. The affected products include all LOTs with a best-before date of October 8, 2026. Authorities recommend that consumers do not consume these eggs and follow instructions from retailers for returns.
