Croatia launches €38 million renewable energy grant program for households

The Croatian Fund for Environment and Energy Efficiency (FZOEU) announced a public call worth €38 million to co‑finance household investments in renewable energy. The scheme supports the installation of heat pumps, solar photovoltaic systems and, for the first time, battery storage units. Applications open on 2 September 2026 at 09:00 via the eFZOEU online portal.

Grants cover up to 50 % of eligible costs. Regular households can receive between €6 000 and €17 850, while families classified as at risk of energy poverty may obtain between €8 400 and €24 990. The programme targets owners or co‑owners of family houses who have been registered at the dwelling for at least 30 days. Funding derives from proceeds of EU emissions‑allowance auctions for 2026‑2030.
