Croatia launches international art projects in Pula and Split

On 7 July 2026 the Archaeological Museum of Istria in Pula opened the "Shared Grounds" exhibition, concluding the three‑year SOCRAT project that linked artisans and contemporary artists from Croatia and Italy to develop sustainable cultural‑tourism products. The Mediterranean Sculpture Symposium helped organise a live‑lab on ceramics and sculpture, bringing together Croatian and Italian creators to produce works inspired by Istrian stone, landscape and heritage.

Meanwhile, the non‑profit Cirkus kolektiv announced two international calls for artistic residencies to be held in Split in 2027. The Artist in Residence programme will support circus artists at any stage of project development, while the Outdoor Art Lab focuses on site‑specific works that engage the city’s public spaces. Applications are open to European creators until 20 August 2026, with residencies running from January to October 2027.
