Croatia launches new taxi cooperative and veterans care centre projects

Entrepreneur Leon Šeketa founded the taxi collective Flotila, gathering around 100 independent drivers within two months after new taxi regulations and a crackdown on aggregators left many drivers without income. Šeketa says the company offers bookkeeping, transport management, fuel discounts and other support to help drivers in difficult personal circumstances.

Separately, the Ministry of Croatian Veterans is proceeding with the construction of five "Braniteljski" centres for long‑term care of war veterans and victims, including a new centre in Bukovlje. Officials warn of a shortage of roughly two thousand staff needed across the centres, from nurses to caretakers, and have begun public hiring calls to fill the positions.
