Croatia launches state subsidies for electric vehicle purchases
The Fund for Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency in Croatia will begin accepting applications for state subsidies to purchase new electric vehicles on October 28. The program has allocated 20 million euros, which is expected to support the purchase of approximately 3,000 new vehicles.
For new electric passenger cars priced up to 35,000 euros (including VAT), the state offers a maximum subsidy of 9,000 euros, provided the support does not exceed 40 percent of the vehicle's value. For vehicles priced between 35,000 and 62,500 euros, the maximum subsidy is 7,000 euros, also capped at 40 percent of the price. Vehicles costing more than 62,500 euros are not eligible for the program.
Applications must be submitted electronically via the eFZOEU system. Eligibility is limited to individuals residing in Croatia, with a limit of one subsidized vehicle per person. Financial leasing is permitted, but operational leasing is not. Subsidies are not available for vehicles fully paid for prior to the public call announcement.
