Croatia man sentenced to prison for unauthorized use of a bus

A 58-year-old man, identified as Predrag Kojadinović, has been sentenced to one year of unconditional imprisonment by the Municipal Court in Virovitica for the unauthorized use of a vehicle.

In September 2024, the individual took a Čazmatrans MAN bus from Virovitica after finding the keys in the ignition. He drove the vehicle to Staro Grce, where he presented himself as a driver to a group of people and offered to take them for drinks in the nearby village of Okrugljača.

During the trip, the bus became stuck in a canal slope while reversing, requiring it to be extracted by a tractor. Witnesses noted that the driver appeared visibly intoxicated. Following the incident, the passengers continued their journey in a different vehicle, while the defendant abandoned the bus in Turnašica.
