Croatia mandatory pension funds' assets reach 28.8 billion euros

The net assets of mandatory pension funds (OMF) in Croatia reached 28.8 billion euros at the end of July, representing a 0.2 percent increase of 68 million euros compared to the previous month, according to the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa).

By the end of July, the funds had a total of 2,418,271 members, an increase of 5,221 members or 0.22 percent from June. During the month, 7,583 new members joined, with 94.9 percent automatically assigned by Regos. Membership ceased for 2,362 individuals due to retirement or death.

Net contributions to the funds totaled 167.1 million euros in July, while total payouts for closing personal accounts amounted to 59.3 million euros. Regarding investment performance, Category A saw a monthly nominal return of 0.09 percent, while Categories B and C recorded declines of 0.17 percent and 0.23 percent, respectively. Annual returns remained positive across all categories, led by Category A at 18.13 percent.

Bonds remained the dominant investment type, accounting for 15.9 billion euros or 55.18 percent of the total assets, while equity investments saw a slight increase of 0.1 percentage points.
