Croatia marks 20th anniversary of Operation Storm with singer Mia Negovetić

Singer Mia Negovetić, now in her twenties, performed the national anthem at the 20th‑anniversary ceremony of the 1995 Operation Storm military campaign in Croatia. She recalled that she first sang at the event when she was only 12 years old, describing the experience as a major moment in her career.

In a separate interview, Milica, who now lives in Belgrade, recounted the terror she endured as a child during the same operation. At ten years old she fled her hometown of Gospić with her family as fighting intensified, describing scenes of death, packed suitcases, and her father's desperate call to escape. Her testimony highlights the lasting personal trauma linked to the historic military action.
