Breast cancer awareness campaigns launch across Southeast Europe
Various organizations and communities across the Balkans and Southeast Europe are conducting campaigns and events to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Pink Ribbon Day. These initiatives focus on the critical importance of early detection, regular screenings, and self-examinations.
In Serbia, IDEA marketi has launched the ‘Biraj roze’ campaign, involving over 50 partners and 80 brands. A portion of proceeds from specially marked pink-packaged products will be donated to the Institute of Oncology and Radiology of Serbia.
In Croatia, numerous cities are hosting activities. Zagreb held its 27th Pink Ribbon Day with a traditional parade organized by Europa Donna Croatia to support patients and promote regular check-ups. Other regional activities include humanitarian actions in Đurđevac and Koprivnica, and health-focused events in Čakovec, Velika Gorica, Sinj, and Pula. In Rijeka, Poliklinika Primari is offering free breast ultrasounds for women not currently included in national screening programs.
In Bulgaria, the Zonta Club in Veliko Tarnovo is promoting self-examination through documentary screenings and free screenings. In North Macedonia, Hema-Onko and Medicus Help organized a ‘Pink Picnic’ in Skopje to provide support to women living with breast cancer and raise awareness about symptoms.
