Croatia observes road safety and mobility initiatives
Various regions in Croatia are participating in initiatives focused on road safety and sustainable mobility. In the Virovitica-Podravina area, the ROADPOL Safety Days were observed from September 16 to 22. A specific day was designated to mark a day without traffic fatalities, with a focus on pedestrian safety. During enforcement activities in Orahovica and Virovitica, police sanctioned 36 offenses, including 21 pedestrian violations and six instances of failing to yield to pedestrians.
In Varaždin, the city is observing European Mobility Week and Car-Free Day. On September 21, activities were organized at Trg slobode to promote sustainable transport and safe public spaces. The program included sports and traffic safety education for approximately 180 children from the Varaždin Kindergarten, held in cooperation with local sports associations and the Varaždin Police Administration. The event aimed to encourage walking, cycling, and the use of public transport.
