Croatia Opens Two Major Photography Contests – RuralFoto Submissions Until Aug 31, Split Exhibition Call for 2027

The RuralFoto competition, promoted by Agroklub for the fourth year, is accepting photographs that depict village life, livestock, wildlife, nature and food preparation until 31 August. Over 300 images have already been received. An international jury of photographers, artists and media representatives will select ten finalists in each of four categories, yielding a total of 40 finalists. Winners will be announced on 16 September in Osijek during the opening ceremony of the World Congress of Agricultural Journalists. The prize fund is €2,000, with a special audience award and a GoPro HERO13 camera for the photo that garners the most “like” votes.

Fotoklub Split has launched a call for entries to its 2027 exhibition programme at the Gallery of Photography. Applications must be submitted by 10 August 2026 and should include an artistic CV, the proposed photographs, a concept statement (max 2,000 characters) and any accompanying audiovisual material. A five‑member artistic council will review the submissions; photographers who have exhibited independently in 2025‑2026 are ineligible. Selected projects may receive financial support for catalogue design, printing, venue costs and travel, with final decisions expected by the end of 2026.
