Regional law enforcement conducts intensive traffic safety operations

Various law enforcement agencies across the region have conducted intensive traffic safety operations, resulting in numerous citations and arrests.

In Croatia, police in Zagreb recorded 885 violations during a weekend crackdown, including 149 drivers removed from the road for driving under the influence of alcohol. In Bicko Selo, a five-hour surveillance operation identified 62 speeding offenses, including a driver reaching 177 km/h on the A3 motorway. Other incidents included a 51-year-old driver in Kastvo facing fines and a license suspension after a police chase, and a 26-year-old in Podravina sentenced to prison for repeated unauthorized use of vehicles while intoxicated. Additionally, police in Vir and Biograd intercepted minors operating motorcycles and mopeds without licenses.

In Montenegro, municipal police in Podgorica issued approximately 4,000 fines for illegal parking and stopping in less than a month following the implementation of stricter rules. Meanwhile, residents of Ulica 4. jula in Podgorica have renewed demands for speed bumps and improved signage following a serious pedestrian accident near a local kindergarten.
