Croatia pushes ahead with key Istrian highway projects
Minister of Maritime, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković said a contract has been signed for the first segment of the planned motorway to Žuta Luka, with construction on the Križišće‑Jadranovo section set to begin this autumn. He added that a contract for the second segment, Jadranovo‑Selce, is expected within ten days, while work continues on the bypass of Novi Vinodolski, slated for completion by spring 2027.
At the Matulji interchange, officials including Primorsko‑goranska County chief Ivica Lukanović reported that works are on schedule and could be finished up to six months ahead of the original deadline. The interchange will link the Istrian ipsilon directly to Croatia's motorway network, improving traffic flow, safety and accessibility for the region’s significant tourist traffic and supporting the local economy.
