Croatia ranks among top 20 countries for quality of life
Croatia has been ranked among the top 20 countries globally for quality of life according to a new report by World Population Review. With an index score of 181.7, Croatia placed 20th, positioned just behind Slovenia.
The ranking utilizes Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index, which evaluates eight specific areas: purchasing power, safety, healthcare, cost of living, the ratio of property prices to income, commuting time, pollution, and climate conditions. Croatia’s high placement is attributed to strong scores in safety, favorable climate conditions, and relatively low pollution levels.
Luxembourg secured the top position with 218.2 points, followed by the Netherlands, while Denmark and Oman shared the third spot. The report notes that this index differs from traditional economic measures like GDP per capita, as it focuses on day-to-day living conditions rather than purely economic prosperity. In this ranking, Croatia placed ahead of several developed nations, including Canada, France, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
