Croatia recalls food products due to bacterial contamination

The State Inspectorate of the Republic of Croatia has issued a recall for two frequently purchased food products sold at SPAR and Lidl stores due to the presence of harmful bacteria.

Certain batches of S-Budget smoked ribs, produced by Mesna industrija Braća Pivac d. o. o., are being withdrawn from SPAR stores. The recall is due to the confirmed presence of Listeria monocytogenes. Affected lot numbers include L 1B8JEK, L 1B8CEQ, and L 1B8DRA, with expiration dates ranging from August to September 2026.

Additionally, Lidl Hrvatska is recalling ‘Milbona High Protein Pudding Chocolate’ (200g) with an expiration date of September 14, 2026. This product was found to contain Bacillus cereus, failing to meet European food safety regulations. Consumers are advised not to consume the specified products.
