Croatia reports growth in vehicle sales and maritime transport

Croatia's automotive and maritime transport sectors reported key performance metrics for the first eight months of the year. New passenger vehicle sales reached 53,771 units, marking a 5.2 percent increase compared to the previous year. Škoda led the market with a 13.5 percent share, followed by Volkswagen and Opel. Chinese brands such as BYD, Geely, Omoda, and Jaecoo have also established a presence in the market.

In the maritime sector, Jadrolinija transported 9.3 million passengers and 2.8 million vehicles during the same eight-month period. While passenger numbers were slightly lower than the previous year, vehicle transport remained stable. The company reported a 3 percent increase in revenue, though expenses rose by 5 percent due to higher maintenance and energy costs. Jadrolinija has expanded its network with new lines, including an international route between Zadar and Ancona.
