Croatia reports record tourism growth in air and cruise sectors

Croatia experienced a significant surge in tourism activity during July 2026, according to recent data. Air traffic through the country's five busiest airports reached 2.355 million passengers, representing a 1.7 percent increase compared to July 2025.

Split Airport remained the busiest hub with 767,000 passengers, followed by Dubrovnik with 557,000 and Zagreb with 465,000. Zadar and Pula recorded 365,000 and 145,000 passengers, respectively. Germany was the primary market, contributing 380,000 travelers, followed by the United Kingdom, Poland, and France.

Simultaneously, the cruise sector saw record activity on the Adriatic Sea. In July, foreign cruise trips reached 131, a 5 percent increase over the previous year. Total cruise passenger numbers for the first seven months of the year rose by 14 percent to 587,500. The Dubrovnik-Neretva and Split-Dalmatia counties were the most frequent destinations for these maritime excursions.
