Croatia: Residents report high service fees for boiler repairs

Consumers in Croatia have expressed significant dissatisfaction regarding high costs for minor boiler repair services. In one instance in Zagreb, a technician charged 190 euros for approximately one hour of work. The bill included specific charges for gas regulator pressure checks and flue gas measurements, but the total was heavily inflated by a 90-euro call-out fee and a 35-euro charge for ‘difficult vehicle access and parking’.

In a separate incident reported via Reddit, a customer was charged 500 euros for a 25-minute repair involving the replacement of an expansion vessel. While the customer initially agreed to the price due to a lack of technical knowledge, she expressed frustration upon receiving the itemized invoice. The dispute centered on the breakdown of costs, specifically the high price attributed to parts and the lack of transparency regarding the specific components installed.
