Croatia schools begin new academic year with increased enrollment and local funding

New school years have commenced across various regions in Croatia, marked by new student enrollments and local government support.

In Brodsko-posavska County, the Andrije Živković Catholic Elementary School welcomed its second generation of students, with a total of 41 pupils in the first and second grades. To support the school, the county donated 15,000 euros for classroom equipment and provided nearly 20,000 euros for the ‘Klik i pokret’ project. This funding enabled the purchase of 24 laptops and IT equipment to facilitate informatics classes and promote healthy digital technology use.

In the Virovitica-Podravina County, 618 first-graders began their education. Within the City of Virovitica, the Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić Elementary School hosted a ceremony for its new students, which included local officials and representatives from various community services. The Brlići school system reported a total of 692 students, including 80 first-graders, noting an increase in the number of first-grade classes at its main campus.
