Croatia sees rise in anxiety and burnout cases
Dr. Jakša Vukojević, a specialist at the Vrapče Psychiatric Clinic, has reported a significant rise in anxiety and burnout among the Croatian population. He noted that many patients seeking help remain fully functional in their daily lives and work, which often leads them to delay seeking professional medical assistance.
Data indicates a sharp increase in burnout among family physicians in Europe, rising from 5.8% in 2012 to 21.8% in 2024. In Croatia, a critical challenge remains the shortage of medical staff, particularly within the fields of child and adolescent psychiatry.
