Croatia sees rising kindergarten enrollment in Lika-Senj

Lika-Senj County has recorded the highest percentage growth in kindergarten enrollment in Croatia. According to data for the 2025/2026 pedagogical year, the number of children attending preschool programs in the county rose to 1,502, an increase of 120 children or 8.68% compared to the previous year.

Despite this growth in some regions, other areas face significant shortages. In the Municipality of Bizovac, parents report that 28 children remain without available spots in nurseries or kindergartens this year. This follows a similar issue last year when 36 children were left without placement. Local initiatives have noted that planned infrastructure projects, such as the conversion of a community center in Samatovci and the reconstruction of the Maslačak Kindergarten, have not yet yielded results.
