Ivan Penava announces MUP state secretary replacement and memorial initiative

Ivan Penava, president of the Homeland Movement (DP), announced in Osijek that a candidate has been identified to replace Tomislav Bilandžić as state secretary in the Ministry of the Interior (MUP). Following discussions with the HDZ, Penava expects the appointment to be finalized within the coming week.

During a commemoration for victims killed in the Osijek prison in 1945, Penava also detailed a coalition agreement to establish a new public institution and memorial area dedicated to victims of the communist regime during and after World War II. He emphasized that the current parliamentary majority is uniquely positioned to implement such measures.

Penava further stated that the Homeland Movement is committed to maintaining the ruling coalition to prevent opposition groups, such as Možemo!, from taking power, despite the political sacrifices required to achieve their policy goals.
