The Croatian government has announced its intention to grant a shellfish farming concession valued at approximately 3.9 million euros. The concession covers 40,000 square meters of maritime domain near Selina, in front of the Provalije site within the Starigrad municipality in Zadar County.

According to the location permit, the total permitted annual shellfish production is up to 100 tons. Minister of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure Oleg Butković explained that the initial fixed fee is 10 cents per square meter, increasing by one cent every five years. The initial variable fee is set at 0.40 percent of the revenue generated in the concession area, which will also increase by 0.10 percent every five years.

Interested parties must provide proof of capability, including economic feasibility studies and financial guarantees, and must cover the costs of obtaining the location permit from the company Vele Mare. Bids can be submitted to the Ministry within 30 days of the notice's publication in the Electronic Public Procurement Bulletin.
