Regional inspections target unregistered businesses and illegal tourism
Regional inspection authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Republika Srpska have conducted extensive operations to combat unregistered business activities and tax evasion.
In Republika Srpska, inspectors targeted online sellers on social media, issuing 78,000 KM in fines to individuals operating without registration. In the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, tax inspections resulted in 265,700 KM in fines and the sealing of 30 establishments due to unregistered workers and failure to use fiscal devices.
In Croatia, tourism inspections during the 2026 season identified 166 cases of illegal accommodation advertising. Authorities sealed eight illegal camps, including a large site in Draga near Pakoštane containing 126 mobile homes. Total fines for illegal rental providers reached approximately 142,000 euros. The crackdown included the sealing of various apartments, houses, and a hotel.
Additionally, environmental and communal inspections in Republika Srpska conducted over 1,000 reviews, identifying 348 irregularities related to ecological protection and radiation safety.
