Croatian veteran murals and national coat of arms vandalized

Unknown perpetrators vandalized murals dedicated to Croatian Homeland War veteran units and the official coat of arms of the Republic of Croatia in an underpass near the former Vjesnik skyscraper. The vandals left insulting messages against the war and used signatures associated with anti-fascist groups.

Nikola Grmoja, president of the Most party, condemned the act, stating that such behavior does not erase the memory of defenders. He called on both the HDZ and the Možemo party to condemn the incident. Veteran associations expressed deep indignation, describing the perpetrators as ‘haters of Croatia’ and demanding legal action under the Criminal Code.

Minister of Veterans Tomo Medved characterized the act as cowardly, asserting that Croatia will protect its values. While the murals were originally created without official permits earlier this year, Dinamo Zagreb supporters have reportedly begun efforts to restore them.
