Croatia warns of dangers in online laundry detergent purchases

Authorities in Croatia are warning consumers about the potential life-threatening dangers of purchasing laundry detergents and other chemical products online. The State Inspectorate recently identified a case involving a laundry detergent ordered from another European country that contained a dangerous chemical mixture and lacked proper labeling.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the responsible parties, with potential fines ranging from 6,000 to 13,000 euros. The product has been removed from the Croatian market. Experts from the toxicology service of the Croatian Institute of Public Health warn that improper labeling can lead to accidental mixing of chemicals, resulting in skin irritation, eye damage, or corrosive reactions.
