Croatia weather alert: Genoa cyclone to bring storms to Adriatic coast

A shallow cyclone developing in the Gulf of Genoa is expected to impact Croatia starting Thursday evening and lasting through the upcoming weekend. The weather system will bring south winds (jugo), increased cloud cover, and local thunderstorms with heavy rainfall to the northern and central Adriatic coast, reaching as far as the Punta Planka cape.

In contrast, southern Dalmatia will remain under the influence of an anticyclone, experiencing warm, sunny weather. Inland areas and mountainous regions like Gorski Kotar may see increased cloudiness and localized showers. Sea temperatures are reported to be high, ranging between 25 and 27 °C, while the UV index remains very high during sunny periods.
