Balkan weather forecast: Wind, fog, and cooling trends
A period of variable weather is affecting the Balkan region, characterized by strong winds, morning fog, and fluctuating temperatures. In Croatia, a yellow weather alert has been issued for Zadar and northern Dalmatia due to the bura wind, with gusts potentially reaching 65 to 75 km/h. While much of the country expects sunny intervals and relatively mild daytime temperatures between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius, the coast remains subject to moderate to strong bura winds.
In the continental interior, mornings are increasingly cold and foggy, with temperatures in valleys and river basins dropping near or below freezing. A transition toward more stable, sunny weather is expected for much of the week, though a gradual cooling trend is forecasted toward the end of October and early November.
Bosnia and Herzegovina are experiencing similar patterns, with moderate bura winds in Herzegovina and southwest regions. Road conditions in Bosnia are reported as wet and slippery, with increased risks of landslides in certain areas. Serbia is also seeing a mix of sun and light rain, with temperatures ranging from 5 to 17 degrees Celsius, accompanied by morning fog and increased traffic during the start of the work week.
