Croatia weather warnings issued for strong bura winds
The Croatian Meteorological Service (DHMZ) has issued weather warnings due to a Mediterranean cyclone and the mixing of cold, dry air with warmer, moist air. A yellow warning is in effect for wind along the entire coast, while an orange warning has been issued for the Podvelebit coast, where bura wind gusts could reach up to 130 km/h.
Inland areas are expected to experience cloudy weather with occasional light rain, which may turn into sleet or snow in higher mountainous regions. Temperatures in the interior will reach approximately 8 °C, while coastal areas will see highs between 14 °C and 17 °C.
Forecasts indicate that while the Mediterranean cyclone moves toward the Black Sea, high-pressure systems will persist through Saturday. Coastal regions may see periods of sun, though the northern and central Adriatic will continue to experience stormy bura winds.
